tonight I spent like, two hours arguing with a guy on facebook. the highlights of the conversation were thus:

• equality for the sexes is all about women letting their boyfriends go to strip joints
• because women work in strip joints objectification of women is not a problem
• something about birds
• pseudo-psycho-biology bullshit about women being inherently the more attractive gender
• biology used to explain social constructs, i.e. there is totally a biological reason why women take longer to get dressed than men and it is not because of society telling us we need to look good forever.
• reverse sexism
• I know women who like to be objectified therefore.
• how dare you accuse me of being a sexist you don’t even know me.
• please do not assume all men are misogynistic
• why can’t we just have a nice conversation why are you getting so angry.
• telling me to not talk over you is treating me like a child and is condescending and IT SHALL NOT BE TOLERATED.
• “I feel very insulted by your tone”
• objectification of men by women is totes the same as the objectification of women by men.
• strip joint lad’s mags cosmo.
• “you are obviously a misandrist”
• WHY ARE YOU SO MEAN, I AM A SUPPORTER OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS.
